One of the biggest factors was the amount of hardwood mixed throughout the property. Hardwoods can take considerably more time to mulch than lighter brush, undergrowth, and smaller vegetation.

That’s also one of the challenges that comes with quoting larger forestry mulching projects. You can walk a property, look at the density, evaluate the size of the trees and brush, and make a solid estimate—but sometimes you don’t know exactly what you’re dealing with until the machine gets into it.
